About half of the total population of Bangladesh is children. Bangladesh Shishu Academy Ordinance (Bangladesh Shishu Academy Ordinance, 1976) was established in 1986 with the aim of developing the physical, mental, cultural and latent talents of these children to become worthy citizens. In 1974, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman enacted the Children's Act 1974. Following this, Bangladesh Shishu Academy was established in 1986 realizing the important role of children in the overall development of Bangladesh and in the interest of the nation.
The activities of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Pirojpur District Office started from 1993. From the very beginning, the organization has been committed to develop the children of Pirojpur as worthy citizens of the future and to develop their physical, mental, cultural and latent talents. To successfully implement the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of the Child and to address the challenges of the 21st century and to create a non-discriminatory child friendly environment by ensuring that children have the right to life, development and social and cultural opportunities. In the future, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Pirojpur District Office is working at the field level under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
